Aortic dissection

This is doctor Julie health Meyer with our opening anesthesia inter operative T. E. E. case of the month for may 2014. Each month we feature an operative case which teaches or emphasizes an important aspect of basic inter operative T. E.. Our patient this month is a 65 year old woman who has a past medical history of type one diabetes mellitus hypertension and chronic renal failure on peritoneal dialysis. On the day of admission she was at home and developed tearing back and chest pain and nausea and vomiting prior to her peritoneal dialysis. And an outside hospital a CT scan was concerning for a Stanford type a aortic dissection. She was transferred to our hospital where contrast CT scan showed and this is sending a Nordic dissection and she was brought emergent lead to the operating room for surgical repair of her a Sydney orda ...
