Good afternoon everyone this is Cynthia Juan I'm sitting and I. Office Donna in Chicago Illinois their conditioning on its nice and hot outside. I want to welcome all the new fellows who just started a couple of weeks ago. We're happy to have you on board and thanks for joining us this afternoon so the title of my talk today is maternal mortality women still die in childbirth. And I think you'll understand the reason for the title we get to the end of the talk. I don't have any disclosures are relative to the topic of this talk. So let's start with a couple of disturbing facts who who the World Health Organization said that in 2008. 358000 women died of maternal causes.
