Egypt's last independent media outlet raided by police

Over the weekend, Egyptian security forces stormed the offices of Mada Masr, an investigative media outlet, and detained its staff for several hours. According to Mada Masr, two freelance translators and two crew members from FRANCE 24 were also present in the office and questioned during the raid. This comes amid a wider crackdown on dissent and free speech in Egypt.
