Evaluating Performance-based Funding

The Ontario government, in its 2019 provincial budget, announced it will introduce performance-based funding for post-secondary institutions in 2020. The plan is for up to 60 per cent of funding for Ontario universities and colleges to eventually be tied to 10 performance targets. Joining Steve Paikin to discuss the plan and its potential implications for the quality of higher learning in the province are: Alex Usher of Higher Education Strategy Associates; and Nipissing University professor Gyllian Phillips on behalf of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty (OCUFA).
