Faking Reality: Encouraging Good Self-Concepts In A World Seen Through the Lens of Social Media

Though I am not a mental health OT....I am a mental health OT.  I can not count the number of times that I have had to discuss and battle against the "reality of fakeness". Social media, when interpreted as 100% reality, can lower self esteems, self-images, and self-concepts, due to the comparing and contrasting mindset some have.  This is something that I use to wage war against the 'fakeness' that can have 'real' effects on the lives of our clients.
