Trauma in Pregnancy: Assessment & Management with Lesley Gilbertson and Helen Pappas

Okay and my name is Helen Pappas and together out today with my colleague Lesley Gilbertson will present you with the current approaches to the assessment and management of trauma in pregnancy and this is a very important topic to review not only for major trauma centers but really for all locations. As pregnancy should be considered whenever evaluating asking no trauma victim of reproductive age. So to get started a brief overview of what will discuss today and we'll start with epidemiology and demographics of trauma in pregnancy all touch briefly on the physiologic changes of pregnancy. Attempting to focus on the most pertinent parts that are pertinent to trauma resuscitation a follow some of the specifics of a TLS or advanced trauma life support and then the use of radiography in pregnancy.
