Thoracic aortic aneurysm

This is doctor Julie huffed Meyer with our open the anesthesia intraoperative T. E. case of the month for April 2015. Each month we feature an operative case which teaches or emphasizes an important aspect of basic intro operative T. E.. Our patient this month is an elderly woman with a past medical history of hypertension and systemic lupus erythematosus controlled with plaquenil. She's been otherwise active and healthy exercising at the gym multiple days each week. Over the course of the past couple of months she complained of a dry cough and her primary care doctor did a work up that revealed an A. sending erotic aneurysm with moderate erotic regurgitation but a normal left ventricular ejection fraction.
