This is doctor Julie health my with our open anesthesia intraoperative T. E. case of the month for February 2015 each month we feature an operative case which teachers are emphasizes an important aspect of basic and drop out of T. E.. Our patient this month as a young woman with a history of pair part in cardiomyopathy she was originally diagnosed a few days after delivery of her baby 3 years ago. Her heart failure courses been stable over the past couple of years being managed with medications diet lifestyle. Approximately 6 months ago her heart failure symptoms worsen her functional status decline and she had a bye matriculate pacemaker and ICD placed. One month ago she developed severe pneumonia and suffered with volume overload that's been refractory to high dose diuretics and Nora known. Her heart failure has also been complicated by cardio renal syndrome with elevation creatinine and hepatic congestion. She presents to the operating room for left ventricular assist device placement.
